APPLE CRUMBLE
Apple Crumble can be eaten hot or cold, by itself, or with custard or cream.
3 - 4 lb Granny Smith or other tart apples
1 cup sugar
2 cups flour
4 oz butter
cinnamon to taste
pinch of salt​

Preheat oven to 400*F
Peel, core and slice apples into a 13" x 9" dish. Sprinkle 1/2 C sugar over fruit. Sieve flour with cinnamon and a pinch of salt. Rub butter into flour until mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Stir in other 1/2 C sugar. Sprinkle over fruit.

400*F 30 - 45 minutes, or until top is brown. Serve hot or cold, with custard or cream optional.

FRUIT CRUMBLES

This recipe can be adapted to use whatever fruit is delicious and in season. It is particularly tasty made with rhubarb or blackberries. My personal favorite is an apple and rhubarb combination. You can try other fruits. Be creative!
